For 12 years, I helped build one of the largest organic mattress companies in the US. I know exactly what goes into making a premium sleep product. But a 2019 trip to New Zealand planted the seed for something different.

I originally flew down to meet the farmers supplying the wool for our mattresses. In an industry full of anonymous supply chains, they took immense pride in knowing exactly where their material was going. Touring the paddocks, scouring facilities, and testing authority, I saw firsthand an industry that had been disrupted by cheap synthetics. A fiber which has been used by humans for thousands of years, seemingly forgotten. Despite those headwinds, these farmers refuse to lower their standards. I fell in love with their dedication.

A few years later, a supplier sent me a sample that stopped me in my tracks. It was the cleanest wool I had ever seen. That material was Wisewool™, and it stuck with me. When I was finally ready to step out and build a new brand centered entirely around it, that same supplier introduced me to Chris Larcombe, a craftsman who had created a sleep company in New Zealand called Do Not Disturb.

We partnered up to launch Do Not Disturb Sleep Company USA, the American arm of the brand. Every single product we sell is designed and handcrafted in New Zealand by Chris and his team.
